To fully explore Newfoundland, you will need about 2 to 4 weeks to see all the attractions across the island entirely. More than one week will be required, it is just too short, or you will be rushing through your vacation and not enjoying it.
2 to 4 weeks will be enough time for you and your family to travel from the east to the island’s western region. This is the perfect time to complete all the spots and things on your bucket list.
Planning your trip is essential; this will make things easier, and you will have a more enjoyable vacation in Newfoundland. The province is made up of 5 regions. Avalon, Eastern, Central, Wester, and Labrador.
If you are driving, you can start from the western region and make your way to the Avalon. There are many places to stop along your driving route. You can drive on the Trans Canada Highway, make detours, and stop along your way to St John’s.

Avalon: Discover what to do in the Avalon Region
Visit Signal Hill National Historic Site; this site has been used since the seventeen hundreds as a signalling and observation point for ships and underwater vessels that voyage out on the Atlantic Ocean. During summer, you can access the lighthouse and climb the stairs up to the top to look down on the city of St. John’s and across the Atlantic Ocean.

Newfoundland and Labrador have five regions. The Eastern Region stretches from Bonavista to Point May. This region is about one hour and a 30-minute drive from the Capital, St Johns. One of the major hubs in this region is Clareville.
The Eastern region is home to many different towns and small communities. There are plenty of things to do once you get here.
