This is not an exaggeration. Determine your boat tour departure date and time first. Then book your Rocky Harbour or Norris Point accommodation around those dates. Then book your rental car. The tour books out weeks ahead in peak season and last-minute availability does not exist in July and August.

Planning Your Gros Morne Day Around the Tour

On boat tour day, arrive at the Western Brook Pond parking area at least 30 minutes before the start of your walk to the dock allow extra time if travelling with children. The morning walk provides excellent wildlife viewing. After the tour, the remaining afternoon works well for a drive to Trout River for fresh seafood dinner.
