1. Book Vehicle Reservations Well in Advance

Book reservations in advance to secure your spot, especially during peak summer travel when crossings fill well ahead. Vehicle space fills faster than passenger space. July and August departures can book out weeks ahead.

2. Arrive at the Terminal Early

Allow at least 1.5 to 2 hours before scheduled departure for vehicles. Late arrivals risk missing their sailing.

3. Be Flexible with Your Itinerary

Weather conditions may cause changes to ferry schedules. It is essential to be flexible and have alternative plans for disruptions.

4. Bring Entertainment for the Crossing

The Port aux Basques crossing is approximately 7 hours. The Argentia crossing is 14-15 hours. Bring books, downloaded shows or podcasts, and snacks. Cabin accommodation and meals are available on board.
